Swobo

Swobo began in 1991 as a small company in San Francisco with a big idea: Sensibility. Driven by a single goal, they strove to give urban cyclists a better option for clothing, choosing recycled products over new, organic over conventional, natural fibers over synthetic, and just a line that was more concerned with simplicity and practicality. Their bikes (introduced in 2005) follow the same idealogy. From quick fixed-gears to fully-fendered 3-speeds, they are designed to flow through the city with a new sort of style – no flashy decals, nothing over-the-top… just cool bikes.

Cannondale

In 1993, Benno Baenziger and Jeano Erforth noticed a huge gap in the growing bicycle industry – there were no cruisers. “You could buy a $99 Huffy at Wal-Mart, or you could try to find an old one and restore it, which is very expensive,” Erforth told his local news. So the two of them began designing affordable, stylish cruisers that would combine old looks with contemporary technology. Since then, the company has grown tremendously, expanding their line to include high-end fashion bikes in eye-popping colors.

Scott USA

In 1958 a gentleman named Ed Scott radically changed the world of skiing by introducing the aluminum ski pole. Soon after came the world’s lightest skiboot and the first ventilated foam goggle. Scott has been an innovator until this day. Over the last 50 years Scott has developed from a single product company into a worldwide powerhouse in wintersports, motorsports, cycling and running. Today Scott is known for their innovation, technology, and design.

Gary Fisher

Gary Christopher Fisher (born in 1950) was already competing in road and track races by the age of 12. In 1976, Fisher participated in the Repack downhill race, a tortuous route down Pine Mountain near Fairfax, California. Other riders using the standard coaster brake were forced to repack their smoking hubs with grease after every run, but Fisher was riding his converted 1930’s Schwinn Excelsior X bike with innovations including drum brakes and motorcycle brake levers and cables. Fisher still holds the Repack record time at 4:22. In 1979, Fisher teamed up with Charlie Kelly and Tom Ritchey to start their own company – MountainBikes – the first company to manufacture this type of bicycle. In 1983, Fisher founded Gary Fisher MountainBikes, was inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame in 1988, and is still known by many as “the founding father of mountain bikes.” The company continues today to come out with new technologies within their already impressive line of bicycles.

Raleigh USA

Raleigh’s stories past began in Nottingham, England. Frank Bowden, a prosperous 38 year-old purchased his first bicycle in 1887, on the advice of his physician. Bowden, so enamored with the simplicity, beauty and thrill of his bicycle, paid a visit to the bicycle’s manufacturer and purchased their factory. Within six years, Raleigh became not only the largest bicycle manufacturer in the world, but also the largest business in the world. Raleigh continued to enjoy immense success through the high-end road bike-boom of the 1970’s, and has continued their tradition of quality and innovation to this day. Raleigh’s continuous operation since 1887 makes Raleigh the oldest and most historic bicycle brand still in operation today.
